Russian occupiers reportedly captured 8 Ukrainian towns and mayors



As the Russian-Ukrainian war heats up in Eastern Europe, a phone conversation between an invader and his wife has been overheard by Ukrainian intelligence. The interception was made public on Telegram by the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Ukrinform reported. The soldier informed his wife of the many casualties as well as the capture of a prisoner Russian commander who tried to escape from the front lines.

According to the Ukrinform report, an invader from the Donetsk People’s Republic said: “The fourth battalion, they took their commander prisoner. They forced him to stay with them so he wouldn’t run away. He also added: “They have a lot of injuries. We also loaded the vehicles yesterday. They are ready to escape. An order was given to stay. Yesterday more than twenty wounded Russians were taken away.”

Also, earlier, the General Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said that a large number of employees of Russian security agencies have started submitting resignation letters.

Meanwhile, Russian soldiers have detained nearly 8 mayors of Ukrainian towns in seized territory, according to the Association of Ukrainian Towns, quoted by Kyiv Independent. Ihor Kolykhaiev, the mayor of communities in occupied Kherson Oblast, is one of the eight authorities.
