Russia issues notice of closure of flight paths along border with Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said his country did not need war, but added that if attacked, his country would defend itself.

“We don’t need another cold war, nor a bloody war, nor a hybrid war,” Zelensky said in a speech posted to his official Facebook account early Thursday local time.

“But if we are attacked militarily, if they try to take away our freedom, our lives, the lives of our children, we will defend ourselves,” added the Ukrainian president, in a speech in Russian addressed to Russian citizens. “When you attack, you will see our faces and not our thorns, our faces.”

Zelensky called the war a “terrible misfortune”. He said he was ready to continue diplomatic talks with Russia and affirmed that Ukraine did not pose a threat to Russia.

“They say that Ukraine could pose a threat to Russia. It was not a case in the past, not now, and will not be in the future,” he said. main objective is to maintain peace in Ukraine and ensure the safety of Ukrainian citizens. For this, we are ready to hold discussions with everyone, including you. [Russia]in the format of your choice and in any location.”

“Russian television will surely not broadcast this video, but the Russian people must watch it. The truth must be known. And that truth is that all of this has to stop now, before it’s too late,” Zelensky said.

“If Russia’s leaders don’t want to sit down with us to make peace, maybe they will sit down with you. Does Russia want war? I would love to have an answer to this question. But this answer depends only on you, citizens of the Russian Federation,” he said.
