The EU’s Strategic Communications Working Group has corrected the text of a recent tweet from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, which claims that NATO will supply Moldova with weapons that would violate its neutrality status .
The fixed text of the Russian MFA’s tweet was published on the EU East Stratcom Working Groupas reported by Ukrinform.
“MFA Russia, we fixed this for you,” the tweet said. The line in the Russian Foreign Ministry’s tweet, which says that “the supply of NATO arms to this country (Moldova – editor’s note) undermines its status of neutrality and will do little to strengthen its security”, has been corrected as follows: “The supply of non-lethal equipment to this country (Moldova – editor’s note) is in line with its status of neutrality and will contribute to strengthening its security.”
It should also be noted that the Russian Foreign Ministry wrote “Council of Europe” instead of “Council of the European Union”.
The EU is committed to supporting Moldova’s stability and protecting its people, the EU task force added to the tweet.
Currently, the initial MFA Russia tweet is not on their timeline.
