Defense contractor provides advanced artillery fire control system to Russian troops – military and defense


MOSCOW, October 26. / TASS /. High Precision Systems Holding within state-owned technology company Rostec has delivered yet another state-of-the-art automated artillery fire control system to troops, the Rostec press office said on Tuesday.

“The 1V198 system delivered to troops under the 2021 Defense Supply Plan provides high artillery control efficiency, especially for the Tornado-G multiple rocket launcher,” the press office said citing the industrial director of Rostec Armaments Cluster, Bekkhan Ozdoyev.

The system has advanced software and the latest artillery fire control technology that can automatically detect a target with high accuracy, point the gun at it and eliminate it, the statement said.

The state-of-the-art artillery fire control system developed and manufactured by the Signal All-Russian Research Institute makes it possible to accomplish shooting tasks, perform counter-fire maneuvers, locate and strike a target within faster sequentially from two or more locations with an accuracy of up to 10 meters, said Rostec.

The delivery set includes 1V1003 command and observation vehicles based on the BTR-80 armored personnel carrier and 1V1004 command and staff vehicles based on Ural trucks. The equipment provides fully automated fire control for up to four artillery batteries of different types. The 1V198 artillery fire control system has been operational in the Russian army for several years.
